Mr. Adam Clonts, Principal MMS
Good Day!
I am your Principal, Mr. Adam Clonts. I am a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and honored to have the opportunity to work with the staff, students, families, business, and additional stakeholders of Murphy Middle School. I am 2003 graduate of Murphy High School—following high school, I attended Lenoir Rhyne University. During my time at Lenoir-Rhyne I was a 3 year letterman for their Football program, and I earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in the spring of 2008. In the spring of 2021, I earned a Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University in Educational Administration and Leadership. Upon college graduation, I began my career with Cherokee County Schools teaching at Marble Elementary School. Two years into my career, I transferred to Murphy Elementary School where I taught Second Grade and Kindergarten between the years of 2012-2022. During the 2022-2023 school year, I served as the Assistant Principal for Murphy Elementary School. In addition to teaching, early in my career I coached football and baseball for Murphy High School, and basketball for Murphy Middle School. As an administrator and leader of the school, my vision for Murphy Middle School is the following:
The vision of Murphy Middle School is to empower teachers and students to provide a diverse, rigorous, and high standard of learning through enriching and unique learning experiences, academic clubs, and athletics to inspire lifelong learning while creating multiple opportunities for students to positively impact their school and community.
Again, I am honored for the opportunity to be the Principal of Murphy Middle School and I look forward to working with all stakeholders to provide a middle school experience that is rich with rigour and opportunities that will allow students to be well rounded and prepared for high school.
