Murphy Middle School houses 6th, 7th and 8th graders. We have a variety of special interest extracurricular activities as well as sports for our students. We are also extremely proud of our new STEM lab. This state of the art lab was opened in November of 2018 and allows our students access to many opportunities that are not available anywhere else in Western North Carolina. We pride ourselves on providing our students with the opportunity to explore, learn and grow in an environment where they feel supported and challenged.
OFFICE PERSONNEL
Ms. Jennifer Lugiewicz, Assistant Principal, comes to Murphy Middle after working at Murphy Elementary and Martins Creek recently. Ms. Lugiewicz is also located in our office to support the students, parents, and staff at MMS. Ms. Lugiewicz keeps the wheels spinning with anything you can think of at MMS. We are excited to have her here at MMS.
Ms. Bandy, is everyone's go to resource for EVERYTHING. She is so helpful to all students, staff, and parents on a daily basis. Ms. Bandy is the glue that keeps it all together!
Our school counselor, Ms. Rankin, is located in the office ready to assist you everyday! She is always ready to listen, give solutions, and be our student's biggest cheerleader.
Nurse Revis, our school nurse, handles all the medical needs of our students. Nurse Revis is also located in the office area and enjoys keeping everyone healthy while at Murphy Middle School.
Ms. Delores Howell is a familiar face having held many roles in the Cherokee School System throughout the years. We are thrilled she calls MMS home and helps our staff on a daily basis to assist our students as best we can.
